It hasn’t been long since Hong Kong recently opened some public places like gyms and cinemas as social distancing regulations were eased after they seems to have contained the virus but however, they have confirmed more than 50 new cases for the past few days. According to South China Morning Post, Hong Kong Healthy Experts describe the latest wave as the worst the city has experienced so far and more worrying than the first outbreak as half of these confirmed cases are untraceable and have called for immediate suppression measure as well as extensive testing to control the outbreak.
The Hong Kong authorities warns the residence of Hong Kong about the corona virus third wave as they believed each infected person could transmit the corona virus to four others considering than a number of cases are still untraceable and there is a chance that there are still more hidden cases. The Centre for Healthy Protection advised people to stay at home and avoid gatherings, giving them a warning that the situation in Hong Kong might be getting out of hand because of the new confirmed cases.
To control the situation, Hong Kong Healthy Experts urged the Hong Kong government to put stricter measures to contain the spread of the corona virus. They also advised the local citizens to be more cautious and avoid activities such as eating out. Further they suggested that companies should allow employees to work from home and that patrons must be careful when visiting restaurant and entertainment venues. In response the Hong Kong government tightened the social distancing rules which were made effective from last Wednesday
l Banning dine-in services from 6pm to 5am with only four people or less per table.
l Scaling back public gatherings from 50 to 4 people.
l Making mask wearing mandatory on public transport
l Closure of public places including bars, gyms, karaoke lounges.
