Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin signed an order Tuesday to scrap a series of restrictions on the spread of the virus. From July 13, the city of Moscow no longer requires its citizens to wear masks and gloves on the streets, but still requires them to be worn on public transport, in medical places, in shops and other public places. Classes at sports, music and art schools in Moscow resumed as normal Monday. Public recreational activities are allowed to be held in the open air within the city, as well as attractions, parks and cultural sites within the city. Children’s play areas, entertainment centers, discos, etc., but the government requires that the number of visitors in these places shall not exceed 50% of the maximum capacity of the venues. Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister Alexia Golikova said the mandatory wearing of face masks would remain in place until at least the autumn. Since May 12th Moscow’s city government has required passengers on public transport, including taxi drivers and passengers, to wear masks and gloves. Masks and gloves will also be mandatory in public places and workplaces.
